Though many of you are intrigued with the fact that we have spun Bengal Tiger, some have expressed a concerned that this was illegal due to the fact that tigers are on the Endangered Species List.

Though we thank you for your concern, once again VIP Fibers would NEVER perform any service that was illegal or inhumane to any animal. The laws state that it is illegal to sell any part of an animal on the Endangered Species List.   Yarn made from Tristan's brushings has never been, nor ever will be sold in any shape or form.  

Tristan's mom is a licensed USDA Exhibitor.  She owns and operates Château Safari in Arkansas, which is Tristan's home.  She has raised Tristan since he was wee cub and has dedicated her life to the preservation of Big Cats.  Though Tristan is not her first Bengal Tiger, alas, he will be her last.     She, personally, brushes Tristan on a regular basis and had sent us some his hair, in hopes of getting a special keepsake from him.   We were simply thrilled to have the opportunity to actually spin Tiger hair! 

We made Tristan's mom a clock from his precious yarn and she graciously allowed us to keep the left over yarn to make sample pieces for our Sample Book and to display in our lobby & at fiber shows. Again: Yarn made from Tristan's brushings has never been, nor ever will be sold in any shape or form.
